Stargazers need to mark this date on their calendars, because that's when the biggest, brightest and closest "supermoon" will appear in the skies over Maine.

The "supermoon," a term describing a full moon that passes close to the Earth, will next appear on Nov. 14, 2016 (although it will look just as bright on Nov. 13.) And, if you miss it, it won't come around again for a while.

In fact, the moon won’t come this close to Earth again until Nov. 25, 2034. The Nov. 14 full moon will be the closest since Jan. 26, 1948.
