Here Are The 10 Smallest Towns in Maine

Nashville, Maine is about as far from its namesake in Tennessee as you can get. It's a small town just west of Ashland in Aroostook County. It's not the country music capital of the world, but it does have 22 houses and is home to Little Machias Lake.

Not to be confused with the Penobscot County town of Lincoln, this plantation is in Oxford County right on the New Hampshire border. As you'll see, it does have its own town hall.

The Forks is in Somerset County right on the Kennebec River. It is known to host some of the best whitewater rafting in the state and home to the beautiful Moxie Falls.

Here's another Aroostook County town on our list. Moro is a heavily wooded area about 24 miles west of Houlton. Interesting fact: It once (1910) had a population of more than 200 people.

Seboeis Plantation is in Piscataquis County along the western shore of South Branch Lake. There are only 13 families in town, according to the latest information available.

Dennistown is just north of Jackman in Somerset County. As a matter of fact, if you drive just 11 more miles on Route 201, you'll be in Canada.

Kingsbury is in Piscataquis County on the shores of Kingsbury Pond. There's a really nice rest area off Route 16 with picnic tables and a bathroom.

Codyville is in Washington County about halfway between Calais and Houlton. It's mostly woods, like those you see here.

Now we're getting into the single digits. Frye Island is part of Cumberland County and only has five year-round residents. It's located in Sebago Lake and became Maine's newest town in 1998, according to the town's website.

We made it! Here's the smallest town in Maine. Glenwood is in Aroostook County and sits on the shore of Wytopitlock Lake just southwest of Houlton. There's really not much more to say except there are three people there and we imagine it's very peaceful.
