Penobscot County Sheriff-Elect Troy Morton released the identities of the people involved in a head-on collision Saturday that killed a woman and injured six other people.

Morton says the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office received the call of a 2-vehicle crash on Route 2 near the intersection of the Mohawk Road in Enfield just before 11:30 on Saturday morning. When Deputies arrived, they found a head-on collision and several injured.

A black Saturn SUV driven by Katie Martin, 29 of Howland, was traveling north when her vehicle crossed the center line and hit a white Toyota SUV driven by Kathi Hinkleman-Emery, 60 of Lincoln. Martin was taken to Penobscot Valley Hospital and then transferred to EMMC in Bangor, where she is in serious condition.

Martin's passenger, Jonathan Noonan, 48 of Sebois was taken by LifeFlight to EMMC where he is listed in critical condition, as of Monday morning. A 7-year-old boy, who was also riding in Martin's vehicle, was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but was not injured.

Kathi-Hinkleman-Emery was taken to PVH where she remains in stable condition. Kristi Birmingham, 63 of Lincoln, was taken to PVH and then transferred to EMMC and is in serious condition. Joanne Hinkleman, 86 of Lincoln, is in stable condition at PVH.

Karla Kenniston, 64 of Portland, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Morton says the crash remains under investigation.
