The Hancock County Technical Center is holding it's 1st Annual Middle Schools Skills Camp THIS SATURDAY, March 25th from 8 am to 11 am. Learn about Carpentry. Automotive/Diesel, Media Communications, Culinary Arts, Health Occupations, Early Childhood Education and Welding!  All proceeds from the camp will be used towards Skills USA!Cost is just $40.00. Students will get an opportunity to tour the school, learn about one specific program and do a project/activity within the chosen program. There will be snack time, and students can bring their own or purchase one from the snack shack.

Carpentry - Do you love to build things? Then this is the program for you! Students will learn about carpentry tools and safety and will use these skills to construct a small project they can take home at the end of the day! 20 slots available

Diesel/Automotive - Interested in cars, trucks and heavy equipment? Students will learn basic automotive technology skills and automobile detailing as well as check out some of the onsite heavy equipment and program tools. 30 slots available

Media Communications - Participants will learn how fun it is to create stories through the media! Students will learn about camera operation and digital editing. Students will take shots, record audio, edit, add music and titles and walk out with a finished project! 12 slots available.

Culinary Arts - Get a taste of the culinary arts! Students will rotate through stations where they will learn garnishing, fancy napkin folding, cake decorating and baking! Students will have a finished 6-inch cake to take home to showcase their skills. 20 slots available.

Early Childhood Education - Interested in babysitting? Spend this session learning about how to care for children of various ages, basic childcare safety and learn activities and games you can do with children while babysitting. 20 slots available

Welding - Want to learn about one of the most in demand professions? Students will learn welding ling, fundamentals and safety as well as have a chance to experience the different types of welds and potential opportunities within the welding field. 10 slots available.
