Could today be any better? Happy Rabbit Rabbit Day AND Happy Canada Day!

Wonder what Canada Day is? According to wikipedia  "Canada Day is a federal statutory holiday, it celebrates the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, enactment of the Constitution Act, 1867 (then called the British North America Act, 1867), which united the three separate colonies of Canada, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick into a single Dominion within the British Empire called Canada.".

On the first day of the month, I say “Happy Rabbit Rabbit Day!”

I have said it the first of each month since about 1980. That’s 37 years, 451 months. That’s a heck of a lot of “Happy Rabbit Rabbit Days!”

I thought it was a Maine thing, as I learned it from someone I went to Middlebury College with, who was from Maine, but subsequently found out it was an English superstition.Wikepedia says “Rabbit rabbit rabbit” is one variant of a common British superstition which states that a person should say or repeat the word “rabbit” or “rabbits”, or say the phrase “white rabbits”, or some combination of these elements, out loud upon waking on the first day of the month, because doing so will ensure good luck for the duration of that month”

So remember today is July 1st! Be sure to say “Happy Rabbit Rabbit Day” After all, we all need some good luck!
