This year, Relay for Life in Hancock County will be celebrated on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Ellsworth Elementary-Middle School Track. I am so sad that I will not be able to attend, because this event really is near and dear to my heart.

We all know of someone who has been affected by cancer. Cancer continues to claim our loved ones and I truly hate this disease! As a two time cancer survivor every year that I walk in the survivor's lap I have a huge lump in my throat. I remember my journey of surgery, chemo and radiation and all those that loved me through it.

If you have never participated in Relay For Life, or have participated in the past, I would encourage you to do so! This year it is being held from 11 AM  to 11 PM. You can find out about the theme laps and this year's theme of Carnival for a Cure below

There will be the Luminary Ceremony beginning at 9 PM when luminarias are lit in memory and in honor of those who have fought and are fighting cancer. To see the entire track lit up is moving to say the very least.

Relay For Life needs you! They need walkers, they need participants, they need donations. They need people to participate in their new Tread Purple 5K For more information please visit their Facebook Page
