Budding sportswriter Nick Corson has submitted another article for the WDEA website, this time about the Acadian Youth Football Team's 35-32 loss to Hampden . Here it is

The 7/8 Acadian football team faced the Hampden Broncos at MDI High School on October 20th. The Broncos got off the bus with about three times as many players as the Acadians. Hampden dominated in the first half scoring two touchdowns but with just minutes to spare, Logan Beckwith had an 80 yard fumble recovery bringing the Acadians to the 6 yard line. Unfortunately they were not able to get into the end zone before the clock ran out with Hampden on top 14-0 to end the first half.

The third quarter was packed with touchdowns from both teams. MDI came out swinging with two rushing touchdowns from Logan Beckwith and Nick Corson followed by a two point conversion. Each time the Acadians scored the Broncos answered  back with their own touchdown .

The Acadians  also had an unbelievable second half of defense led by key plays from Archer Hill, Kyle Collin, Sam Mitchell, Baylor Landsman and Tyler Woodworth. They forced and recovered three fumbles resulting in two touchdowns.

In the 4th quarter the Acadians closed in on the Broncos scoring three touchdowns to Hampden's one.  The Acadians only passing touchdown came with time expiring on the clock and MDI down 26-35. Quarterback Sam Mitchell threw a 25 yard pass to Logan Beckwith to end the game with the Broncos on top 35-32.
