Island Fire fighters were toned out on Tuesday morning to fight a fire on Robinson Lane in Hall Quarry in Mount Desert. The cabin was a total loss. When Mount Desert firefighters arrived, they found the cabin fully engulfed and had to run hose from the corner of Hannibal's Way. They called in a 2nd alarm bringing crews from as far away as Ellsworth to respond to the need for mutual aid.

Even though the cabin was a total loss, hats off to the crews who worked the fire, to insure that they remained safe, and that the fire didn't spread to the adjoining woods and homes/cabins. Look at the pictures and you'll get an idea of how far they had to run hose to fight the fire!
