Gingerbread House Competition in Bar Harbor

The Bar Harbor Historical Society invites you to it's 1st Annual Gingerbread House Competition on Saturday, December 10th with cash prizes in 3 categories! There  will be a $300 prize for Best Overall, $100 prize for Best House Made by a Child Under 12 Years Old and $100 prize for People's Choice.

This year's contest is open to anyone, whether professional or amateur. Entries considered for the children's prize must be completed by children under 12 years old and may receive adult supervision in the baking of the gingerbread houses, however, the entry submitted must be designed, constructed and decorated solely by the child(ren). Groups may submit an entry together.

Entries should NOT exceed 1.5 feet in height, 1.5 feet in width or 1.5 feet in depth, including the board the house sits on.

The gingerbread house must be constructed of edible ingredients i.e. gingerbread, cookies, candies, crackers chocolate etc.

Registration forms MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN NOON on Monday, December 5, 2016.

Entries must be delivered to the Bar Harbor Historical Society, 33 Ledgelawn Avenue between 11 AM and 1 PM on Friday December 9th unless another time has been arranged.

Judging and winner notification will take place on Saturday, December 10th. The People's Choice winner will be chosen by votes cast by visitors to the Gingerbread House Tour.

Entries must be picked up between 3 and 4 PM on Saturday, December 10th.
