Gift of Reading

Reading is a fantastic gift! A book can transport you anywhere in the world, to outer space, to the future or to a historical event! It can take you to a murder mystery, to a fictional event, to a sporting event, literally anywhere!

That's why I love what the Ellsworth American and Mount Desert Islander are doing this weekend! They're giving away a free book for children and young adults! On Friday night, December 4th from 5:30 to 7 PM at the YMCA in Bar Harbor children and young adults can come and select a book courtesy of the Mount Desert Islander and then on Saturday afternoon, December 5th, between 12 Noon and 1:30, after the Ellsworth Christmas Parade, children and young adults can come select a book at the Ellsworth American!
