Former MDI Trojan Greta Smallidge has recently returned from Switzerland where she volunteered at the 1st Established Girl Scout World Center in Adelboden. Smallidge who graduated in 2015 will now be attending UMaine in the Fall of 2016.

I spoke with her last week, and asked her about why she took a gap year. She explained that she had barely been out of Maine, and that she originally had planned on going to the Bahamas. But, given her 10 plus year involvement with the Girl Scout organization, she decided to volunteer at the World Center in Switzerland.

She volunteered with 10 to 14 girls, and was there from early December to early March. To learn about the duties and requirements of the volunteers click HERE.

Smallidge is now working 3 jobs, at the Great Harbor Maritime Museum in Northeast Harbor, the MDI Ice Cream Shop and Window Panes.
