Former Ellsworth Eagle Terry Spurling Selected to Maine Basketball Hall of Fame

In addition to Bernard Bunny Parady being selected to the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame, Ellsworth High School's Terry Spurling was also selected to be inducted into the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame in August.

Terry Spurling, an All-State player for Ellsworth, led the Eagles to the Class L State Championships in 1953 and 1954 and to the New England Championship in 1954. The '54 team was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame. Spurling played at the University of Maine and coached at Aroostook Central Institute and Houlton.

He is the grandfather of current Houlton player Kolleen Bouchard and former Houlton Shiretowner and Bentley College Men's Basketball player Kyle Bouchard
