The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry's final Foliage Report of 2017 dated October 18th is showing many areas of the State at peak, with Northern Maine past peak. Moderate to high leaf drop is also reported throughout the State.

According to Gail Ross, the fall foliage spokesperson,"While the upcoming weather forecast (for the weekend) calls for warm weather, the recent cooler weather will help push the remaining zones to peak or near-peak conditions by this weekend. Leaf peepers will still find a spotty green in a lot the deciduous trees along the immediate coast where we were fortunate to escape the recent frost, but don't wait, the weather can change dramatically between now  and October 31st.
