The Boston Red Sox announced Wednesday morning, October 11th that manager John Farrell will not return for the 2018 season. A search for a new manager will begin immediately.

Farrell just completed his 5th season as the Red Sox manager, leading the team to a 93-69 record and the club's back to back American League East title.

Farrell was the Red Sox manager from 2013-17 and during that time the Red Sox went 432-378. They won 3 AL East Division Titles in 2013,2016 and 2017, His 432 wins and 810 games managed both rank 6th in Red Sox history. He is the only manager to ever lead the Red Sox to back to back Division Titles. He led the Red Sox to the World Championship in 2013 and was named American League Manager of the Year by the Sporting News.

Farrell was the Boston Red Sox's pitching coach 2007-2011 before becoming manager of the Toronto Blue Jays.
