Joe Kelly had one of his better outings of the season but it was not enough as the Atlanta Braves scored late to beat the Boston Red Sox 5-2.After tying the game in the bottom of the 6th inning the Braves would add two more in the 7th. Nick Markakis singled in the go-ahead run before Sox pitcher Tommy Layne issued a bases loaded walk that pushed in an insurance run.

Manager John Farrell was ejected in the 6ht inning when he thought Ciriaco swung and missed a pitch that was called a check swing by the umpires. Brock Holt and Pablo Sandoval were the only Boston players with multiple hits in the game.

The Sox will try to earn a split in the 4-game home and home series when they play tonight in Atlanta. The pregame starts at 6:25 with the first pitch on AM 1370 WDEA.
