One of the most amazing things about living in Maine is the willingness of Mainers to take care of Mainers and those they love. I have witnessed it constantly in the 30 plus years I have lived in this great state.

On November 7th, 2016,  Maiysha Somers-Jones (age 34), Isis Doe (age 10), and Zebulon Doe (age 8) were killed in a fire in Old Town, Maine. This tragedy has devastated their family and their communities.

A YouCaring Page has been set up for the community to help the family with the funeral costs of this family. There is also a Smoke Detector Drive happening now through Thanksgiving on Mount Desert Island in memory of this family.
