Every other year, Ellsworth High School takes part in the "Every 15 Minutes" program, and they did so a year ago today. I tagged along all day, and the next, to see the program first hand, and let me tell you, it's so powerful. During Prom and Graduation Season, it's really easy to get behind the wheel after having a drink. I understand that these high schoolers are underage, and shouldn't be drinking, but I also am a realist and realize they are. This video, produced by the HCTC Media Program, explains visually the consequences of drinking and driving, and the impact on lives.

I share it this year, because it's an "off" year in the cycle. But it should be MANDATORY viewing for anyone going out, parents included! I know I was in tears a year ago, when parents were reunited with the "Living Dead" after a night away. Parents and their children were crying as they realized that it was pretend, but could have been!

It's an incredible amount of work to put on an "Every 15 Minutes" event. I wish more high schools would. It still gives me chills every time I see the video, and I hope it does you too. That's the point, and hopefully the live you save, whether it's yours, a loved one, or a stranger will be worth it!
