Emera Maine's line crews were out early Sunday morning, November 4th assessing the damage from the gale force winds that buffeted Downeast Maine to Aroostook County on Saturday. As of 7AM there were 38,103 Emera Maine customers without power.

Of that number, there were 13,296 customers in Hancock County without power and 3862 customers in Washington County without power.

According to Emera Maine's press release  "A full complement of field crews will finish assessing damage and continue to make repairs. A number of contract crews also have been brought in to assist with tree removal and to help restore power. We will focus on repairing circuits with the largest number of affected customers first. More specific information about estimated restoration times will be available as crews complete their damage assessment and any downed wires are made safe. "

Remember if you see a line down or a tree in contact with a downed power line, call emergency responders and Emera Maine. Never try to cut a tree down that is touching a power line, and never drive over a downed line.
