The 2015 Ellsworth Football Team has done something no other Eagle Varsity Football Team has ever done... And they did it Saturday, September 12th! They beat Washington Academy 24-8 to earn the program's first win in their 26th game!

This win wasn't easy! First, the game was originally supposed to be played on Friday, September 11th, but was postponed because of all the rain and poor field conditions. Saturday night's game the field was wet, and that led to 10 fumbles by the Eagles, of which 5 resulted in turnovers!

The Eagles struggled offensively but Devin Wright scored all 3 touchdowns for the Eagles. Jacob Shorey and the entire defense came up big, with Shorey intercepting the ball and returning it inside the 1 yard line to lead to Wright's final touchdown.

The result? A Gatorade bath for Coach Crawford!

From Coach Crawford

Ellsworth Football's first win, since 10/22/55. So many emotions and so proud of the team. They have worked extremely hard, since the middle of August, for this win. These players are the embodiment of a team. They never give up and are always positive. Sr's and captains nice job leading the way last night
