Ellsworth Softball Tips MDI 2-1

The Ellsworth Eagles Softball Team defeated MDI 2-1 when Caitlin Bean walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th inning on Friday afternoon, May 6th in Ellsworth.

Kate Whitney pitched a complete game for the win for the Eagles, allowing just 2 hits, striking out 8 and didn't walk anyone.

Breann Cummings scored the winning run, after starting off the 7th inning with a double. She also singled. Callie Hammer singled and Shelby Cote singled as well.

Aubrie Boyce doubled and Alaina Duley singled for the Trojans

Lindsey McEachern was in the circle for MDI and allowed just 5 hits.

Ellsworth is now 3-2 and plays host to Caribou in a doubleheader on Saturday, May 7th at 12 Noon and 2 PM.

MDI is 0-7 and travels to Dover-Foxcroft to play the Foxcroft Academy at 12 Noon.
