The long ride up and back to Caribou was much more enjoyable on Saturday, May 20th, as the Ellsworth Eagles swept the Caribou Vikings in softball winning the 1st game 14-7 and the 2nd game 16-3.

In the 1st game Mackenzie Chipman allowed 8 hits, walking 2 and striking out 7. Leah Stevens went 2-4 with 2 RBIs, Hannah Sargent went 3-5 with 2 singles, 1 double and drove in 4 runs. Callie Hammer was 3-4

In the 2nd game, Chipman started the game and threw 3 innings, allowing 3 hits, striking out 1 and walking 2. Sammy Mason pitched the remainder of the game, striking out 7 and didn't allow a walk or hit.  Katelynn Bagley was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles and a run batted in. Mariah Young was 2-3 with a double and single and 2 runs batted in. Sydney Stevens was 1-1 with a single and run batted in. Isabelle Perry was 1-1 with a single and run batted in. Shelby Cote was 2-4 with a single and double, while Ellie Clarke went 3-5 with 3 singles and a run batted in.

Ellsworth is now 7-5 and  plays at home against Old Town on Tuesday, May 22nd at 4:30 PM.

Caribou is 2-10 and plays host to Fort Kent on Tuesday, May 23rd at 3 PM.
