The Ellsworth Eagles were shut out by the Washington Academy Raiders 3-0 in East Machias on Friday, May 27th. The Eagles managed only 2 hits off the W.A, pitcher, Jordi Valls.

Connor Wagstaff was the tough luck losing pitcher for Ellsworth, pitching 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 3 hits. He walked 5 and struck out 2. Avery Anderson pitched the final inning for Ellsworth, striking out 1.

Kade Feeney had a double for Washington Academy. Damon Barker and Lorenzo Bonifaco each had singles for the Raiders.

Austin Baron and Jack Lee had Ellsworth's lone hits.

Valls struck out 4 and walked 3.

Ellsworth is now 4-10 with 2 games remaining. They play Saturday, May 28th at 11 AM against Hermon, in the final home game for the Eagles. The Eagles will play on Tuesday, May 31st at 3:45 PM in Bar Harbor against the MDI Trojans. This game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.

Washington Academy is 9-5. They play Saturday, May 28th at 1 PM at home against Sumner Memorial High School and then finish the regular season at home against Narraguagus on Tuesday, May 31st at 4 PM
