The Ellsworth Eagles were too much for the John Bapst Crusaders Saturday afternoon January 20th, beating them 73-48 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

Ellsworth jumped out to a 18-15 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter with Zach Harris scoring 15 points for Ellsworth with 2 3-pointers. Jackson Curtis had 2 points and Devin Grindle had 1 point. For John Bapst Nate Smith had 11 points with 3 3-pointers and Nick Lakeman had 2 points and Jagger Cummings was 2-2 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth increased the lead to 15 points in the 2nd Quarter, outscoring John Bapst 20-8 to take a 38-23 lead at the Half. Harris had 12 points with 4 3-pointers. Curtis had 5 points with a 3-pointer, Bradly Smith was 2-2 from the free throw line and Jared Hamilton was 1-2 from the line. For John Bapst Smith had 2 more 3-pointes for 17 points at the half. James Butler chipped in 2 points for the Crusaders.

In the 3rd Quarter, Ellsworth was up 61-34. Devin Grindle had 5 points with a 3-pointer. Andrew McCullough and Jackson Curtis had 4 points each. Connor Crawford and Zach Harris had a 3-pointer, it was Harris' 7th 3-pointer. Bradly Smith and Dylan Taplin each had 2 points. For John Bapst, Smith had 8 points with 2 3-pointes and Zac Lakeman had a 3-pointer.

In the 4th Quarter Smith hit a 3-pointer for Ellsworth, Javon Williams had 3 points, Sam Giffin had 2 points and Norman Jodrey went 1-2 from the free throw line. For John Bapst, Jagger Cummings had 6 points with a 3-pointer, Nate Smith had his 8th 3-pointer, James Butler had 3 points and Ethan Newcomb was 2-2 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth was led by Zach Harris with a game high 30 points, while Jackson Curtis had 14 points. The Eagles hit 12 3-pointers and were 13-17 from the free throw line.

John Bapst was led by Nate Smith with 28 points and Jagger Cummings had 8 points. The Crusaders were 6-8 from the free throw line.
