Work will begin Monday, June 13th on a  1.2 mile stretch of Route 1A in Ellsworth from the Union River Bridge to Forest Avenue. Crews will be working 24 hours a days between 7 PM Sunday nights through 7 PM Friday nights.

Two way traffic will be maintained on weekdays, between 6AM and 7 PM and one lane alternating traffic will be the norm between 7 PM and and 6 AM on weekdays. Crews will not work weekends during the busy summer tourist season, from June 15th through September 15th between 7 PM on Friday nights and through 7 PM on Sundays.

R.F. Jordan and Sons of Ellsworth will be doing the construction. The plans call for the creation of two four way intersections, one being the new entrance to Ellsworth High School and a center turn lane.

Emera Maine will be installing utility poles and the City of Ellsworth will be upgrading it's water and sewer utilities during this time.

Construction will be halted during the winter, and then resume in 2017 with an anticipated completion date of June, 2017
