Ellsworth PD Helps Out Their Own Duck Of Justice
We've all heard about that famous Duck of Justice about 26 miles to the Northwest, now it seems that the Ellsworth Police Department has their very own feathered mascot.
Yesterday, two officers with the Ellsworth PD gather up a distressed Mallard from Main Street and transported it to the Birds Acre Sanctuary for rehabilitation.
If you've ever traveled beside the Union River in Ellsworth you know that there's an abundance of ducks that reside in the cold chilly waters. As a matter of fact, during the warmer months of the year you may see an Ellsworth officer escorting a family of ducks from one side of State Street to the other from time to time.
We hope that this Downeast Duck of Justice recovers nicely and one day will be seen eating bread crumbs on the side of the Union River!
