Nicholas Bagley threw a no-hitter for Ellsworth on Saturday afternoon in Dover-Foxcroft, but the Ellsworth Eagles lost to Foxcroft Academy 3-1.

Bagley threw 110 pitches, striking out 8 and walking 5. The 3 runs that the Ponies scored were all unearned. The Ellsworth defense allowed 5 errors.

The Ponies took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning, thanks to 2 errors and a wild pitch.

Ellsworth would cut the lead in half in the top of the 5th inning. Conor Maguire singled and stole 2nd base. He advanced to 3rd on a single by Avery Anderson. Maguire scored on a sacrifice fly by Mitchell Domagala.

Foxcroft Academy added an insurance run in the bottom of the 5th, thanks two 2 more errors and a ground out.

Abraham Simpson picked up the win for Foxcroft Academy, pitching a complete game. He allowed 6 hits, 1 run which was earned. He struck out 9 and walked 1. He hit 2 batters

For Ellsworth Conor Maguire was 2-4, Avery Anderson was 1-3, Nicholas Bagley was 1-3, Zack McGraw was 1-3 and Alex Braley was 1-3 with a double.

Ellsworth is 8-7 on the season. Their last regular season game is scheduled for Tuesday at 4 PM at MDI.

Foxcroft Academy is 11-4 and plays their last regular season game on Tuesday, June 2nd at John Bapst at 4:30 PM./
