Ellsworth Nipped by Foxcroft Academy 2-1

The Ellsworth Eagles were smelling upset, but the Foxcroft Academy Ponies scored the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning, to beat the Ellsworth Eagles 2-1 and end the Eagles' season in the Quarterfinals in Dover Foxcroft on Thursday, June 7th.

Foxcroft had taken a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st, but the Eagles tied the game in the top of the 7th, before Foxcroft Academy scored the winning run.

Mackenzie Chipman pitched a great game for Ellsworth, allowing just 5 hits. She struck out 2 and walked 1.

Mackenzie Beaudry was the winning pitcher for Foxcroft Academy. She gave up 3 hits and 1 run while striking out 5 and walking 6.

For Ellsworth Sara Shea, Katelynn Bagley and Katie Hammer all had singles. Bagley and Hannah Sargent each had a stolen base.
