The Ellsworth Girl's Softball Team improved to 5-2 on the season with wins of  11-3 and 17-0 in the doubleheader played on Saturday, May 7th at Ellsworth High School.

In the first game, Callie Hammer banged out 3 hits, 2 doubles and a single and drove in 4 runs and scored 3 herself. Leah Stevens had 2 singles and scored 2 runs. Hannah Sargent had a single and double, drove in 2 runs and scored 2 runs. Breann Cummings had 2 singles and scored while Shelby Cote had 2 singles and scored a run.

Caitlin Bean was in the circle for the Eagles, striking out 4, walking 1 and allowing just 5 hits and 3 runs.

In the mercy rule shortened 2nd game, Hannah Sargent had a triple and single driving in 4 runs and scoring 3. Breann Cummings had 2 singles, a double and 2 runs batted in while scoring a run. Caitlin Bean had 3 singles and 2 runs batted in. Shelby Cote had 2 singles, knocking in a run and scored 2 runs. Leah Stevens had 2 singles and scored 3 runs.

Kate Whitney pitched the 5 inning game, striking out 8 and only giving up 2 hits. She didn't walk a batter.

Elllsworth plays host to John Bapst Tuesday, May 10th at 4:30 PM.

Caribou, now 1-7, plays host to Presque Isle, Thursday May 12th at 4 PM.
