While other schools were enjoying the Christmas break before resuming action on the 28th or 29th, the Ellsworth Girl's Basketball Team played two exhibition games at Central Maine Community College in Augusta on Saturday, December 26th. The Eagles lost to Oxford Hills 43-42 and then beat Cheverus 50-41.

In the 1st game, Oxford Hills scored the winning basket with 10 seconds left and Ellsworth just missed the final shot to tie. Oxford Hills is in Class AA (the Big Schools) and has a record of 4-2.

Ellsworth was led by Madison Card with 11 points including a 3-pointer. Caitlyn Bean had 10 points, Kate Whitney had 6 points, Katelynn Bagley had 5 points. Hannah Sargent had a 3-pointer for 3 points, Sammy Mason had 3 points, Breann Cummings and Olivia Colby each had 2 points.

In the 2nd game against Class AA Cheverus, the Eagles won 50-41. Cheverus has a regular season record of 4-2.

Ellsworth was led by Kate Whitney with 23 points, including a 3-pointer. Madison Card had 11 points including a 3-pointer. Breann Cummings had 6 points. Katelynn Bagley had 4 points and Caitlyn Bean had a 3-pointer for 3 points. Olivia Colby had 2 points and Callie Hammer had 1 point.

Ellsworth, is unbeaten on the season at 5-0. The Eagles travel to Aroostook County on Tuesday, December 29th when they play Caribou and then on the 30th when they play Presque Isle.
