It was a nail biter for the Ellsworth Girl's Soccer team as they were playing in Machias on Wednesday afternoon September 18th, and the score was tied with 3 seconds left to play, and then Katey Curtis notched the winning goal to propel the Ellsworth Eagles to a 2-1 victory, and made for a happy bus ride along Route 1 home!

Katey Curtis scored both goals for Ellsworth, and Emily Berry assisted on one of them. Callie Hammer was in goal for Ellsworth. With the victory, Ellsworth improves to 3-0-1 on the season, while Washington Academy falls to 1-4.

Ellsworth's has three games in the next week. Saturday, September 21 they play at Hermon at 3 PM, Tuesday September 24 they play at home against Caribou at 4 PM and then Thursday September 26 they play under the lights at home against MDI at 6 PM. The Ellsworth-MDI game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370 as well as on WDEA Internet Radio
