A screening of the film 'Men, Women, and Children' in Ellsworth on Friday will support Suicide Prevention Awareness Week.

AMHC is spending this week raising awareness with school children about youth suicide. The students and teachers will learn how to reach out for help if they are contemplating taking their own life or if they know someone in crisis. In addition, teachers will receive training on educating their students about suicide.

On Friday evening, there will be a panel of specialists at the Grand in Ellsworth for the screening of the movie 'Men, Women, and Children.' The R-rated film deals with online addiction, teen love, parental control, and suicide. It has an all-star cast, including Adam Sandler and Jennifer Garner, and is narrated by Emma Thompson.

The event that starts at 6 p.m. at the Grand Performing Arts Center in Ellsworth is being sponsored through the SAFE fund, and admission is free. A panel of local mental health and substance abuse counselors who work with youth and adults in the community will be on hand to answer questions.
