The Ellsworth Eagles' Baseball team finally played their first game of the season, today, April 28th, and fell 7-3 to the Bucksport Golden Bucks.

Conor Maguire took the hard luck loss for the Eagles, pitching 5 innings, allowing 3 runs, 2 of which were earned, striking out 6, giving up 2 walks, while allowing 3 hits.

Carter DeRedin picked up the win for Bucksport, pitching 6 innings, allowing 2 runs, both earned, striking out 10 Eagles, giving up 2 walks, while allowing 7 hits.

Ellsworth is 0-1 on the season, and plays host to Hermon, Tuesday April 29th at 4:30 and then travels to MDI to take on the Trojans on Thursday May 1st. Bucksport is now 2-1 and plays host to Central on Wednesday April 30th at 4:30 and then plays at Searsport on Friday May 2nd at 4:30
