The Ellsworth Eagles Football Team are looking to do something that no other Ellsworth Football team has done... Play in the playoffs. The Eagles continued their run to the postseason Friday night, defeating Stearns 49-7 in East Millinocket. Ellsworth is now 2-4 and in 5th place in the Class D North Heal Point Standings. The top 6 teams make the postseason.

Ellsworth was led offensively by Connor Crawford who had 204 yards on 19 carries with 3 touchdowns. He also had a 60 yard touchdown pass to Javon Williams. Charlie Hughes had 15 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown. Malcolm Svec had a 7 yard touchdown catch from Javon Williams. The offensive lines blocked and created huge holes all night long.

Special Teams played well as Javon Williams returned a punt 80 yards for  a touchdown. Connor Crawford threw for 2  2-point conversions, one to Javon Wiliams and the other to Malcolm Svec. Damian Carter kicked an extra point kick converted a 2-point conversion running into the end zone.

On the defensive side, Andrew Brown had 5 Solo tackles and 7 Assists. Malcolm Svec had 4 Solo tackles, 5 Assists and a Fumble Recovery. Connor Crawford ahd 5 Solo Tackles, 2 Assists and 1 Interception. Will Morin had 4 Solo Tackles and 4 Assists. Charlie Hughes had 4 Solo Tackles and 2 Assists. Damian Carter had 4 Solo Tackles and 7 Assists. Javon Williams had 2 Solo Tackles and 1 Assist and Jeremy Card had 3 Assists. Ryan Stillwagon had an Interception.

The Eagles play 2 more games in the regular season, both at home. On Friday October 13th at 7 PM they take on Orono and on Friday, October 20th they play host to Washington Academy on Senior Night.

Fans attending the games are asked to bring non-perishable items or toiletry items to the games so they may be donated to the Emmaus Center in Ellsworth.
