It's been at least 3 years, and maybe longer since the Ellsworth Boy's Basketball Team beat Old Town, but they did so Thursday, December 20th at Mackenzie Gymnasium in Old Town, defeating the Coyotes 40-37.

Veteran Old Town Coach Brian McDormand's game plan was to limit the scoring opportunities for Zach Harris, and limit Ellsworth's 3-point shooting. To that extent he was successful, as Harris only had 6 points, hitting 2 3-pointers, and the Eagles only made 4 3-pointers on the night. But, Bryce Harmon had a game high 14 points, and the Eagles had points from 10 different players en route to the 40-37 victory.

Old Town led 12-4 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Ethan Hayes had 4 points, Kyle Berube had a 3-pointer, Niko Knapp had 3 points and Ryan Hoogterp was 2-4 from the free throw line for the Coyotes. Harmon had 2 baskets for the Eagle's points.

In the 2nd Quarter, Ellsworth outscored Old Town 14-8 to cut the deficit to 2 points, 20-18 at the end of the 1st Half. Harmon had 4 points, Sam Giffin had a 3-pointer, and Dylan Taplin, Jared Hamilton and Jackson Curtis all had 2 points for Ellsworth. Troy Folmer was 1-2 from the free throw line. For Old Town, Travis Spell had 4 points and Hoogterp and Knapp each had 2 points.

The score was knotted at 29-29 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Bradly Smith and Zach Harris drained 3-pointers, Troy Folmer had 3 points and Harmon had 2 more points for Ellsworth. For Old Town Logan Doucette had 2 points, Knapp and Nil Tourreguitart  had 2 points and Hoogterp was 1-2 from the free throw line.

In the 4th Quarter, Harris hit another 3 pointer for Ellsworth. Harmon had 4 points, Jackson Curtis had 3 points and Trent Mahon went 1-2 from the free throw line. For Old Town, Knapp had 2 3-pointers including one at the buzzer, while Hoogterp had 2 points for the Coyotes.

Ellsworth was led by Bryce Harmon with a game high14 points, while Zach Harris had 6 points. Ellsworth was 4-8 from the free throw line.

Old Town was led by Niko Knapp with 13 points while Ryan Hoogterp had 7 points. The Coyotes were 4-7 from the free throw line.
