The Ellsworth Boy's Soccer Team defeated MDI in the pouring rain, and the start of a Northeaster 3-1 in the final game of the season, in Bar Harbor on Tuesday, October 21st.

The first goal of the game was scored by Ellsworth's Dagan Berenyi at 24:51 with an assist from Anthony Gardner.  Conor Maguire gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead at 10:49.  And Anthony Gardner gave Ellsworth their  third and final goal at 42.2 in the first half with an assist from John Fendl.

In the second half, MDI's lone goal was scored by Jack Stroud with 18.7 seconds left in the game.

Nick Bagley started in goal for Ellsworth and had 3 saves.  Bruce St. Peter finished in goal and had 3 saves as well.  Simon Hulbrook was in goal for MDI and had 6 saves.

Ellsworth finishes the season at 13-0-1 and will enter the playoffs with the #1 seed. MDI finishes the season at 5-7-2 and should finish in 11th place. Ellsworth by virtue of their #1 seed will have a bye in the prelim round, and will host the #8-#9 Winner on Tuesday, October 28th, in a game that will be heard on AM 1370 WDEA. Ellsworth will have home field advantage throughout the Eastern Maine Tourney. MDI will play in a prelim game on Friday October 24th, against the #6 seed, Winslow, weather permitting.
