Ellsworth American Named Newspaper of the Year For 6th Year in a Row
Congratulations to the Ellsworth American, which was named Newspaper of the Year for the 6th year in a row by the New England Newspaper and Press Association at their annual meeting in Natick, Massachusetts earlier in October.
According to Alan Baker, the Publisher of the Ellsworth American "The award is decided by ordinary readers, not professional journalists whose eye for details such as headline style, photo compositions and page layout may cause them to overlook the bread and butter elements of content and communication that engage the average reader."
The Mount Desert Islander came in second and was named a Distinguished Newspaper in it's circulation category.
To celebrate the award, readers of the Ellsworth American are invited to a reception on Thursday, November 3rd from 1 to 4 at 30 Water Street in Ellsworth
