The Ellsworth Eagles' Boy's Soccer Team remained perfect on the year with a hard fought 3-2 victory over MDI in Bar Harbor on Thursday, September 17th under the lights.

Ellsworth took a 1-0 lead in the first half with 36:52 left. Lukas Firestone used his flip throw to launch the ball into the box, and Alex Braley headed the ball into the net.

With 30:19 left in the 1st half, Braley scored his second goal of the game, with an assist by Matt Curtis

MDI scored with 19:13 left in the half, as Sam Tehennepe scored with an assist by Rye Murray.

At the end of the 1st Half, Ellsworth led 2-1.

With 24:53 MDI tied the score 2-2 as Joe Grubb found the back of the net, with an assist by Ryan Bender.

Ellsworth scored the winning goal with 13:04 left in the 2nd Half. Alex Braley took a second consecutive corner and in the scramble,  Trent Goodman was able to get the ball into the back of the net to give Ellsworth a 3-2 lead, that would hold up for the final.

Bruce St. Peter was in goal for Ellsworth and recorded 4 saves. Kendrew Van Gorder played in goal for 78 minutes for MDI and had 10 saves. Andrew Jewett played in goal for the final two minutes for the Trojans.

Ellsworth, now 5-0 travels up to Caribou on Saturday, September 19th to play the Vikings at 3 PM.

MDI now 2-3, plays at Hermon on Saturday, September 19th at 3 PM.
