Eight people were injured Sunday when two vans collided on on Route 220 in Thorndike.
Seven of the injured were students from the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, according to a news release from Maine State Police.
The van carrying the college students attempted to turn onto the Crosby Brook Road and into the path of the second van, police said.
The injured were taken to Inland Hospital in Waterville and Waldo General Hospital in Belfast.
One person was taken by helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. The most serious injuries were a broken wrist and some facial injuries.
Names of the drivers were expected to be released later Sunday.
