The Ellsworth High School Swim Teams were recently honored for their work in the classroom! According to Coach Jim Goodman both the Boy's and Girl's Swim Teams have qualified and been selected by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association to receive the National Scholar Team Award - Silver Level.

To qualify, the team must have at least 12 members, and achieve a certain average Grade Point Average (GPA) for the season. There are three levels Bronze - with a GPA of 3.200-3.499, Silver - 3.500 - 3.749 and Gold - 3.75-4.00.

This year, the Ellsworth Boy's Swim Team had 17 swimmers with a GPA of 3.661 while the Girl's Swim Team had 19 team members with a GPA of 3.719.

In addition to the Team Awards, senior Keith Jordan was designated an Academic All-American for achieving a GPA of 3.750 (83.75%) or higher over 7 semesters.

The Ellsworth Boy's and Girl's Swim Teams also won the 2017 Sportsmanship Awards.
