The Ellsworth Softball Team lost to Foxcroft Academy Wednesday night, May 10th in Dover Foxcroft, losing to the Ponies 3-2. The Eagles were no-hit by Mackenzie Beaudry, who walked 7 and struck out 7.

Mackenzie Chipman was in the circle for Ellsworth, and allowed 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4 Ponies.

 Ellsworth was trailing 1-0 when Callie Hammer reached on a fielder's choice in the 4th inning. She then stole 2nd base and then advanced to 3rd base on a passed ball. Hammer scored on a wild pitch to tie the score at 1-1.

Foxcroft Academy added another run, but Ellsworth tied the score 2-2 in the top of the 5th inning. Trinity Montigny walked and then stole 2nd base. She advanced to 3rd base on a wild pitch. Montigny then led off 3rd, and the Foxcroft Academy threw back down to 3rd base in an attempt to pick Montigny off the base. Rather than sliding back to 3rd, Montigny broke for home and slid under the tag, safe with a steal of home!

Foxcroft Academy scored the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning thanks to two bunts and two errors.

Ellsworth is now 4-3 and plays at Hermon on Friday, May 12th at 4:30

Foxcroft Academy is now 6-2 and plays host to MDI on Thursday May 11th at 4:30 .
