EHS Girls Represent Beat Old Town 60-36

The Ellsworth Eagles Girl's Basketball Team improved to 8-4 on the season, with a 60-36 victory over the Old Town Coyotes on Wednesday, January 14th at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth.

Ellsworth led 11-8 at the end of the 1st Quarter and never looked back as they had a 33-16 lead at the half, and it was 45-24 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Madison Card with 17 points. Card also had 2 3-pointers. Emily Berry, the reigning Big East Girl's Basketball Player of the Week had 14 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double. Sammy Mason had 11 points and Hailee Langley had 10 points. Ellsworth was 10-19 from the free throw line.

For the Coyotes, they were led by Kayla Madden with 11 points including a 3-pointer, and Lauren Martin had 10 points. Old Town was 5-9 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is back in action Friday night, when they host John Bapst at 7 PM. Old Town, now 4-9 travels to Presque Isle on Saturday, January 17th to take on the Wildcats at 12 noon.
