The Ellsworth Eagles bounced back from their loss to Presque Isle on Saturday, coming from behind to beat the Caribou Vikings on Monday, January 2nd, 52-49 at Katsiaficas Gymnasium.

Caribou jumped out to a 10-6 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Alex Bouchard had 4 points, Jake Paul, Austin Findlen and Parker Deprey each had 2 points for Caribou. For Ellsworth, Bryce Harmon had all of the Eagles points, going 4-4 from the free throw line and adding a 2-point basket.

Caribou had a 21-17 lead at the end of the 1st Half. For Ellsworth Zach Harris and Trent Mahon drained 3-pointers, Jackson Curtis had 3 points and Bryce Harmon added 2 points for the Eagles. For Caribou, Parker Deprey had 5 points including a 3-pointer, Austin Findlen had 4 points and Alex Bouchard was 2-2 from the free throw line.

In the 3rd Quarter, Ellsworth went on a 12 point run to take the lead, 29-21 before Jake Berkoski hit a 3-pointer for Caribou. Ellsworth took a 34-28 lead at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Harris had 2 3-pointers for Ellsworth, Dylan Taplin had a 3-pointer and Mahon, Harmon, Jared Hamilton and Curtis each had 2 points for the Eagles. Bouchard had 4 points for the Vikings.

In the 4th Quarter, Caribou came back, outscoring Ellsworth 21-18 but were never able to get closer than 2 points, thanks to Ellsworth hitting free throws, they were 10-12 from the free throw line in the 4th Quarter. Harmon had 9 points in the 4th Quarter, going 5-6 from the free throw line. Jackson Curtis had 8 points, going 4-4 from the free throw line. Harris was 1-2 from the free throw line for Ellsworth. For Caribou Bouchard had 6 points including a 3-pointer, Findlen had 8 points, Berkoski had 5 points including a 3-pointer and Deprey had 2 points.

Ellsworth was led by Bryce Harmon with 19 points, while Jackson Curtis had a career high 13 points and Zach Harris had 10 points. The Eagles were 15-19 from the free throw line.

Caribou was led by Alex Bouchard with 16 points while Austin Findlen had 14 points. The Vikings were 5-8 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 4-3 and will play at MDI on Thursday, January 5th at 7 PM with the pregame starting at 6:30 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.

Caribou, 2-4 plays home on Wednesday, January 4th at 7 PM against Fort Kent.
