The Ellsworth Eagles Baseball Team beat the John Bapst Crusaders 11-1 on Thursday, May 4th in Ellsworth in a game that was 6 innings because of the 10 run rule.

Conner Wagstaff picked up the win for Ellsworth going 5.2 innings, scattering 3 hits and alllowing 1 run, which was unearned. He struck out 5 and walked 1. Austin Baron pitched to the final batter geting a fly out to left field.

For the Crusaders Alec Gagnon pitched 4 innings allowing 5 hits and 6 runs, 3 of which were earned. He walked 4 and struck out 1. Andrew DeTour pitched the final 2 innings allowing 6 hits, 5 runs, 4 of which were earned and walked 2.

Ellsworth scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning, 1 in the 3rd, 3 in the 4th, 1 in the 5th and then 4 runs in the 6th inning before the 10 run rule went into effect.

For the Eagles Troy Folmer had 3 singles, Bradly Smith and Chris Barnes had 2 singles, and Matt Burnett, Sam Giffin, Nick Carter and Sam Horne all stroked singles.

For the Crusaders Ben Spear had 2 singles and Nick Lakeman had a single.

Ellsworth is now 2-2 on the season and are scheduled to play host to Hermon on Saturday, May 6th at 1 PM.

John Bapst is 3-2 and the Crusaders are scheduled to play a doubleheader in Caribou on Saturday, May 6th.
