The State Class B One Act Finals were held at Stearns High School in Millinocket this past weekend and Ellsworth High School finished 4th and MDI High School finished 5th. The top 5 were 1. Lisbon 2. MCI, 3. Lee Academy, 4. Ellsworth and 5. MDI

MDI and Ellsworth were represented on the All Festival Cast. Earning honors were from MDI - Mary Paola for her role as "An Actor Playing with Ropes" and Natalie Rogers for her role as "Language Teacher, Heart".  Earning honors from Ellsworth were - Hannah Box for her role as "Promethea", Whitney Pierson for her role as "Io", and Jessica Cohen for her role as "Pandora".

MDI received judges' commendations for - Excellence in Sound Design in "The Other Shore" to Max Cornman, Jacob Sanner and Ben Hagle and Excellence in Video Design in "The Other Shore" to Pierce Vincenty and Mason Gurtler.

Ellsworth received judges' commendation for - Excellence in Music Composition, Arrangement and Performance in "Bound" to Phillip Wright, Justin Brown and Elijah Wheaton.

Here were the judges' comments for MDI's performance of "The Other Shore"

"Beautiful, expressive and wonderful . . . your acting was outstanding. " Ensemble - "A true team effort -- the bar was set high." Overall acting - "You excelled here. A+." "Beautiful with projectors and movement establishing time and place. Harmonious presentation." To sound design team: Max Cornman, Jacob Sanner and Ben Hagle: "Music added an important stylistic element which enhanced your story." "Show commanded full commitment -- a total buy-in of the strange world allegory. You succeeded. Kudos to the stage manager (Jacob Sanner) for calling a great show.
