The Ellsworth Eagles Baseball Team beat the Foxcroft Academy Ponies on Saturday afternoon, May 27th by a score of 8-1. The Ponies only sent up 25 batters to the plate as Ellsworth's defense and pitching was on point.

Conner Wagstaff was on the mound for Ellsworth, allowing just 2 hits, 2 walks and striking out 9.

Foxcroft's lone hits came from Ryan Vienneau who had a double in the 4th inning and Jeremy Richard who singled in the 3rd inning.

Billy Brock started for Foxcroft Academy and took the loss. Foxcroft Academy's pitching allowed 6 hits, walked 10 and struck out 5.

Ellsworth scored 3 runs in the 1st inning, 2 in the 2nd inning and 3 in the 6th inning when they batted around.

Jack Lee, Sam Giffin, Sam Horne, Devin Grindle, Chris Barnes and Jackson Curtis all had singles for Ellsworth.

Ellsworth is now 10-4 on the season with 2 games remaining. They play at Husson University on Monday, May 29th, Memorial Day against John Bapst at 4:30 and then at home on Wednesday, May 31st against MDI on Senior Day in a game that starts at 3:30 PM.

Foxcroft Academy is now 10-5 with 1 game remaining, at Hermon on Tuesday, May 30th at 4:30 PM.
