Eagles 5 Ponies 2 [PHOTOS]

The Ellsworth Eagles remained unbeaten on the season, defeating the Foxcroft Academy Ponies 5-2 at Del Luce Stadium in Ellsworth on Thursday September 24th.

Ellsworth took an early 1-0 lead when Lukas Firestone scored unassisted with 20:37 remaining in the 1st Half.

Foxcroft tied the score when Tobais Hogfeldt scored and the 1st Half ended tied at 1-1.

The Ponies took a 2-1 lead with 30:49 remaining in the 2nd Half, when Nate Church found the back of the next with an assist from Hogfeldt.

Ellsworth knotted the game at 2-2 when Colby Clarke scored with 21:12 remaining with an assist from Alex Braley.

Braley then scored unassisted at 15:35 left in the 2nd to give Ellsworth the lead 3-2.

The Eagles then received insurance goals from  Matt Curtis with  5:27 remaining with an assist from Lukas Firestone and Alex Braley , who scored his 2nd of the night with 2:01 remaining.

Bruce St. Peter was in goal for Ellsworth and had 5 saves. Logan Butera was in goal for 77 minutes for Foxcroft Academy and had 7 saves. Andrew Miles played the remaining 3 minutes for the Ponies.

Ellsworth, now 7-0-1 will play host to Old Town on Friday October 2nd at 6 PM.

Foxcroft Academy, now 6-1 plays host to John Bapst on Tuesday September 29th at 4 PM.
