It's very wet, so keep those ATVs off the trail!

The very popular Downeast Sunrise Trail is closed to everything other than foot traffic until May 15th, according to a press release from the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.

Although, if the right winter conditions develop, the trail may be reopened for such uses such as snowmobiling, dog sledding and cross country skiing.  Closure signs have been posted the length of DEST, from Ellsworth to Ayers Junction in Washington County.

Stay up to date on the conditions of the Downeast Sunrise Trail at the organization's Facebook page.
