Balsam Valley Amphitheater took the brunt of Maine's July 4th storm, as the winds destroyed tents, equipment and even closed the entrance on Route One when power lines were knocked down because of the high winds. Despite the devastation, the John Michael Montgomery Show (originally scheduled for Saturday, July 5th) will be held on Sunday the 6th.

Preparations for the show have been underway for the days, and were largely undone by the freak storm Friday evening. Chairs and tables set out for guests were tossed aside into heaps by the strong winds. But as the concert organizer Rob Worcester explained, "It is a mess, but everyone is working hard to get things back in place and with cooperation from John Michael Montgomery and even our local community volunteers, it looks like we are going to have great weather and a great event on Sunday."

The country star's show at Balsam Valley Amphitheater, is just the second event being hosted at the new venue located in Columbia Falls. Last fall, a benefit concert for Wreaths Across America was held, headlined by Lee Greenwood. As a patriotic gesture or appreciation, all veterans are invited to attend the show at no cost. Gates will open at 6pm.
