Have you been waiting to build a snowman? You're going to have your chance on Tuesday! The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a Blizzard Warning for the Greater Bangor Area including Down East Maine (Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Machias and Cherryfield) from 4 AM on Tuesday until 1 AM on Wednesday!

Current snowfall projections call for 18-24 inches with snow expected to arrive late Monday night and continue until early Wednesday morning. There will be lots of blowing snow as the winds will come from the North and blow 25-35 miles per hour with gusts up to 55 miles per hour.

This is one of those storms that we hope doesn't live up to the hype, but at this time you should be taking precautions. If you have any sizeable snow on your roof now, you may want to consider raking it off. Additionally, you may wish to insure that your gas grill has propane or charcoal if your grill uses that, as we may be without power for an extended period of time and that way you'll have the ability to eat and cook some hot food. You'll want to make sure your vehicle is full of gas, as well as gas for your snow blower. If you're going to be shoveling, be sure to take it easy, and shovel often, so you're not attempting to move over a foot at one time!
