The Kansas City Royals attacked Sox starter Rubby De La Rosa early and often Saturday night. A 7-1 victory for the team trying to keep its playoff hopes alive.

De La Rosa gave up five runs in four innings of work. He has now thrown 156 innings, by far the most he has ever thrown and is a candidate to be shut down for the last couple of weeks of the season.

Rookie Mookie Betts did make his major league debut at second base. He handled every play that came his way. Betts did go hitless at the plate.
